construction site internship

Campus Poppelsdorf | Bonn

The new campus consist of laboratories, offices, lecture halls and a datacenter and was build by the BAM Groupone of europe’s largest general contractors. When i arrived the site was already behind the completion date and over the43 m budget and i witnessed the respective heat. I was living on the site and originally an intern to the building service engineers, but I ended up doing fire protection. When i left after 7 month i had seen every bushing of every single pipe or wire in the entire complex, just as many german fire protection regulations and was the contact person for the state fire protection inspector.

Church St. Dionysius | Debstedt

The St. Dionysius church in Debstedt was built around 1200. Since the tile covering has had to be repaired at ever shorter intervals, it was to be completely renewed. Hollow interlocking tiles with a straight cut were intended as a replacement for the roofing. To protect against water ingress, a sub-roof consisting of full-surface boarding formwork and sarking membrane was to be installed.
